GRAZIANO FAMILY OF WINES

2006 MONTE VOLPE PRIMO ROSSO - MENDOCINO
CSPC #718403 - $$

This wine is a blend of five different varietals - Barbera, Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Zinfandel - all grown on the hillsides of the Ukiah Valley. It exhibits aromas of ripe blackberries, raspberries and plums. Enjoy this with grilled steak, pasta with forest mushroom sauce or lamb chops with rosemary.

2001 ENOTRIA BARBARA - MENDOCINO
CSPC #701461 - $$

The cool Mendocino County, about an hour and a half north of San Francisco, offers the perfect climate for this relatively unknown grape variety. Deep ruby in colour, with a fullness on the palate, this wine has garnered quite a following among lovers of rich, full-bodied red wines. Perfect with any grilled red meats.

2004 GRAZIANO FAMILY ZINFANDEL - MENDOCINO
CSPC #714643 - $$

Greg Graziano has created quite a cult following for his "no holds barred" style of wines. This Zinfandel has everything that a wine lover could want - rich spicy fruit with plenty of extract and a long finish.

2006 MONTE VOLPE PINOT GRIGIO - MENDOCINO
CSPC #705253 - $$
A beautiful wine that is 100% barrel-fermented and aged "sur lie" for 6 months in French Burgundy oaks barrels (giving it a subtle bubble).  This gray (grigio) colored relative of Pinot Noir produces wines with appealing floral and fruity characters that are framed with clean, crisp acidity.  This wine, like all the Graziano wines, reflects an artistic blend of their Italian heritage with a touch California fair.

LAKE BREEZE WINES

MIRLI MIRLI CHARDONNAY - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #720155 - $$

Mirli Mirli, Aborigine for dragonfly, displays a complex mineral nose intermixed with peach and apricot. A judicious use of oak makes for a medium-bodied Chardonnay that is an excellent complement to chicken and shellfish.

KURI KERTI CABERNET SAUVIGNON - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #720157 - $$

This fantastic Cabernet has an explosive bouquet of ripe stone fruits, especially cherry and blackcurrant. The finish is long and smooth, which would complement beef dishes perfectly.

BINDI BINDI SHIRAZ - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #720156 - $$

This Shiraz is big and rich on the palate with plenty of the black peppery spice that Australia and especially Langhorne Creek have become famous for. Bindi Bindi (meaning butterfly) is for wine lovers that enjoy full-bodied wines with plenty of backbone. It pairs very well with full flavoured grilled red meats.

LAKE BREEZE FRONTIGNAC - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #717628 - $$

Frontignac is another name for the Muscat grape in Australia. A perfect aperitif wine - clean and crisp with plenty of tropical fruit flavours to keep you coming back for more.

LAKE BREEZE CHARDONNAY - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #717627 - $$

Often times Australian Chardonnay is over-oaked. This is not the case with this wine. Intense Chardonnay fruit and a very judicious use of oak make this a wine to be enjoyed with friends.

LAKE BREEZE 1999 BERNOOTA SHIRAZ-CABERNET SAUVIGNON - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #717631 - $$

One of the great values out of Australia, the name Bernoota is Aboriginal for "camp along the gum trees". This blend of 50% Shiraz and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon shows dark fruit characters of blackberry and plums, with a hint of spice and smoky oak aromas. This palate encompasses all the trademark Langhorne Creek fruit sweetness and soft tannins. This wine drinks nicely now, and has all the stuffing to improve for another 3 to 4 years.

LAKE BREEZE 1999 CABERNET SAUVIGNON - LANGHORNE CREEK
CSPC #717630 - $$

This is the way wine was made in the good old days before heavy filtration and the phenomenon of "laboratory" wine took over. This is not a wine for the faint of heart, displaying massive fruit and plenty of sediment. It will easily improve with another 4 to 5 years of cellaring.
